Some bedroom adventures begin before the bedtime story. A favourite toy is packed, a destination is chosen, and suddenly the room becomes the starting point for an imaginary road trip. The Bun Van gives these stories a setting of their own. Inspired by the camper van Fillmore from Disney’s Cars, its distinctive shape brings the spirit of travel into a children’s bedroom, making the bed part of the adventure long before it is time to sleep.
Designing a bedroom around Bun Van means leaving room for those stories to develop. Books about faraway places, favourite animals and a table for drawing imaginary routes can build on the theme while serving everyday activities. The American Academy of Pediatrics’ Power of Play explores how play supports children’s learning and relationships. In the bedroom, this can translate into simple opportunities to invent, create and share, with Bun Van providing the starting point and children deciding where the journey goes.
The Bun Van combines its adventurous appearance with a furnished interior. Behind the fibreglass exterior and chrome plated finishes, palisander wood veneer brings warmth to a setting that incorporates a bed, sofa, desk and storage compartments. These features give the bedroom different places for daily routines, from keeping treasured belongings nearby to settling down with a book. For little adventurers, the van can become a familiar base: somewhere to return after a busy afternoon and dream about tomorrow’s destination.
The Marshmallow Activity Table II introduces somewhere to plan the next expedition. Its blackboard tabletop allows children to draw roads, write destination names or invent a landscape for their toys to explore. Positioned in an activity area near Bun Van, it extends the bedroom’s adventure theme into creative play. A winding chalk line might become a mountain road, while a few circles turn into islands on a map, giving each imaginary journey a different beginning.
The Bunny Floor Mirror creates a corner where little adventurers can get ready for their next journey. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, its bunny silhouette brings another storybook reference into the bedroom, complementing Bun Van’s imaginative character. Positioned beside a collection of costumes and accessories, it offers somewhere to try on an explorer’s hat or adjust a backpack before setting off. A simple dressing corner becomes part of the adventure, giving children a place to decide who they will be and where they will go.
The Bonbon Chair completes the arrangement with a comfortable place for quieter discoveries. Gathered around Marshmallow, its upholstered seat welcomes drawing, puzzles and conversations about where Bun Van should travel next. Velvet upholstery brings softness alongside the van’s smooth exterior, while the chair’s colour can echo details elsewhere in the bedroom. When the adventure pauses, Bonbon gives children somewhere to sit, open a book and find inspiration for the next one.
