It\u2019s also infinitely more playful, thanks to a new visual identity crafted by\u00a0Richardson Design<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe wrapped the historic interior in a constant cream colour, better known by the museum as \u2018cake batter,\u2019\u201d explains senior designer\u00a0Tracy van der Kuil<\/a>. \u201cAnd we used an unexpected colour palette to activate exhibits,\u201d which include a multi-level treehouse, science space, art studio, and dollhouse gallery. Each boasts a signature colour united by plywood and metallic finishes, a nod to\u00a0Cleveland\u2019s industrial character.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The Children\u2019s Museum of Cleveland (CMC) was first established in 1981 by a coalition of parents, educators and civic leaders to provide outreach educational programs and activities to elementary school classrooms.\u00a0Over the past 36 years, the Museum has evolved from merely providing outreach programs and one travelling exhibit, to being known as the only cultural and educational resource completely dedicated to early childhood in the Cleveland area, welcoming more than 100,000 visitors annually.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n In December 2014, the Museum purchased the historic Stager-Beckwith mansion in the Midtown neighbourhood of Cleveland for its first permanent home in its history. Due to its lease not being renewed at its University Circle location, the Museum closed that facility on January 3, 2016, and began to serve the community through a dynamic series of programs held throughout the community, while a new museum and all-new exhibits were developed in Midtown.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The Children\u2019s Museum of Cleveland envisions a community where all families have access to the educational resources they need to raise creative, curious, healthy and well-educated children.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The Children\u2019s Museum of Cleveland promotes learning through play using innovative exhibits and programs designed for all children from birth to age 8.\u00a0 The Museum is dedicated to being a valued resource to parents, families and community institutions that serve young children.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The Children\u2019s Museum of Cleveland is the Ultimate Playground \u2013\u00a0The\u00a0Children\u2019s Museum of Cleveland\u2019s\u00a0new property\u2014the historic\u00a0Stager-Beckwith mansion\u00a0on Millionaire\u2019s Row\u2014is four times bigger than before.
