Kartell Kids Line Have All the Accessories You Need for Their Bedroom \u2013 <\/strong>At last 2015\u2019s Isaloni<\/strong><\/em>, Italian interior design<\/strong><\/em> giants\u00a0Kartell\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>travelled back in time to\u00a0pay tribute one of the forefathers of Italian design, Ettore Sottsass. In 2016, they took it back again, but this time in scale and age with the launch of an incredibly\u00a0cool kids collection<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t the first time the Italian brand has toyed with the concept of children\u2019s furniture. The first entirely plastic\u00a0Kartell\u00a0\u20194999\u2019 chair by Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper \u2013 created back in 1964 \u2013 was intended for kids, while \u2019Sistema Scuola\u2019 by Centrokappa also tapped into this smaller world. Over 50 years later, the Milanese brand is revisiting the idea with these \u2019toys for living\u2019 that nod to the fun aesthetics of\u00a0Kartell\u2019s lively collections.<\/p>\n

\u2018As well as being functional, our products are intrinsically playful, fun and engaging\u2019 says Claudio Luti, president of\u00a0Kartell. The kids\u2019 line allowed the designers to experiment in an area that they perhaps have not before, engaging with a younger audience. Where\u00a0Nendo approached his stools with the idea of the emotion of a smile, creating a face in the imprint of the seat, Laviani got into the youthful mindset for his building game, which he describes as \u2019trying to approach their world more than ours\u2019.<\/p>\n

The company chose from their star-studded list of international designers for this first haul of whimsical plastic silhouettes, all in pastel and pop hues. In keeping with simplistic styles, Japanese designer\u00a0Nendo\u00a0created a transparent curvaceous rocking horse alongside \u2019smile\u2019 stools;\u00a0Philippe Starck\u00a0presents a streamlined \u2019Airway\u2019 swing; Piero Lissoni provides a toy car and tractor; and\u00a0Ferruccio Laviani, a vibrant games table.<\/p>\n
