MET Gala 2019 \u2013 Zendaya\u2019s Princess Dress is the Ultimate Inspiration\u00a0\u21d2<\/strong><\/span><\/em>\u00a0Zendaya, last year\u2019s champion of the Met Gala, came dressed to keep her title. The actress and her stylist Law Roach put together the campiest of outfits in accordance with the night\u2019s Camp theme. Zendaya stepped out on the carpet, looking exactly like Disney\u2019s Cinderella in a Tommy Hilfiger gown.<\/p>\n

At the entrance to the event, Law Roach, her stylist, waved a smoke-emitting wand and the dress slowly transformed from bottom to top, from a grey colour to a glowing pale blue shade.<\/p>\n

Tommy Hilfiger<\/a>\u00a0described the dress as \u201can animatronic crystal-grey silk evening gown constructed to enable both visual and physical transformations of the silhouette from understated to dramatic\u201d. It said that the outfit \u201cculminated with the gown evolving to the\u00a0colour blue\u00a0for its final look\u201d.<\/p>\n

No details have currently been released explaining the technology used to make the colour change possible. It could have worked in a similar way to\u00a0Intimacy\u00a0\u2013 a collection of dresses by Studio Roosegaarde that change from opaque to transparent, through the use of\u00a0electrically sensitive foils.<\/p>\n
