Born in Porto in 2015, Andorine is a stylish, cool and easy to wear clothing and brand for passionate and cosmopolitan children. Andorine is the Latin word for swallow. Swallows are a cultural Portuguese icon. When spring comes, school boys and girls are asked to interpret this flying legend by drawing the Andorine. With edgy designs and a straight-forward approach, Andorine is proving to be a brand to pay attention to when it comes to kids fashion design.
Andorine offers two different lines of garments, Special Edition & Collection, which children can match to create looks at their pleasure. The SPECIAL EDITION line consists of memorable pieces, conveying a sense of quality and attention to detail, lovingly designed exclusive items for special occasions, but always with comfort and functionality in mind.
With a wide range of basic pieces, fashion and accessories, the COLLECTION line allows spontaneous matching that expresses the child’s personal look.
Luisa Amorim (one of the founders) believes in her dreams and brings them to life. Her professional career started at 20 years in the hotel management business before falling in love with one of her family’s business, winemaking. Luisa now leads one of the foremost wineries in the Douro Valley, producer of some of the most iconic wines of the last decade. As a mother of two girls, she founded a non-profit organization that aims to foster educational opportunities for less fortunate children in the Douro Valley. Because she had the opportunity to learn about many cultures around the world, Luisa is a very creative person and a marketing expert that understands the magic world of children.
Maria Lito (the other founder) is an artist, passionate about design and beauty. Her passion for art and travelling has been her life’s inspiration. Maria started sewing when she was a child, taught by her grandmother with whom she mastered all the traditional Portuguese sewing techniques. Together, they made entire dolls wardrobes as part of their childhood games. After majoring in art and architecture, she worked as an architect for many years before venturing into children fashion. Maria João opened a small boutique in Porto showcasing her creations for babies and children. Maria, a mother of three girls, is now a full time designer, fully dedicated to create collections with the utmost care and affection.
